Dukes of the Orient sind eine englische und amerikanische AOR- und Progressive-Rock-Band, die 2017 vom Leadsänger, Gitarrist und Bassisten John Payne und dem Keyboarder Erik Norlander gegründet wurde. Payne gehörte Asia von 1991 bis 2006 an. Nach dem Tod von John Wetton gründeten Payne und Norlander Dukes of the Orient, um neues Material zu veröffentlichen, sowohl aus Respekt vor Wetton als auch um sich von Paynes ehemaliger Band „Asia Featuring John Payne“ abzuheben.
Starkes Album. Hohe Empfehlungsstufe.--

Mein Eindruck ist, bestes Album seit Thick As A Brick 2, mit zweieinhalb schwachen Songs.

Das ist doch schon mal gut. Als einer, der Tull schon im Kindergarten gehört hat, wage ich schon nach dem ersten Hören meine Einschätzung. Der Longtrack ist insgesamt enttäuschend, eine genauere Analyse kommt natürlich noch, außerdem bin ich überrascht, wie häufig das Instrument from Hell (0-Ton Anderson) zum Einsatz kommt.
