Bin eher enttäuscht von ihrer neuen Single, gerade weil ich vom Vorgänger „Waves“ noch sehr überzeugt war und die 7″ mit zu meinen liebsten Singles des Jahres 2007 zählte. Hatte mir mehr versprochen.

SweetheartBin eher enttäuscht von ihrer neuen Single, gerade weil ich vom Vorgänger „Waves“ noch sehr überzeugt war und die 7″ mit zu meinen liebsten Singles des Jahres 2007 zählte. Hatte mir mehr versprochen.
Sweetheart, ich bin von der neuen Grantura 7″ keineswegs enttäuscht. 1x gehört und für gut befunden. Etwas weniger als „Waves“, aber eben nicht viel.
Sweetheart Klasse. Wie gefallen Dir die vier Songs?
Zur Younghusband Single werde ich erst morgen was sagen können.

CC0001, der erste Release auf Chess Club Records. Hatte Mr.Pistolet vor ein paar Monaten zusammen mit den Holloways in einem kleinen Club in London erlebt und war sehr angetan. „We Are Free“ erinnert mich etwas an The Basement, sehr gut auch die fünfeinhalbminütige B-Seite „Holly“.
Die 7″ ist nicht so leicht zu bekommen, da Chess Club, wie Reflex mir versicherte, bisher keinen Vertrieb besitzen. Ich habe sie von Banquet erhalten.Rough Tradethis is the first single for chess club records and it’s limited to just 500 seven inches. the boys behind chess club are will street (son of legendary producer stephen street), video director and photographer max knight and fear of flying drummer jack lawrence brown. they have been running some of london’s most interesting live music nights and djing all around town for some time now. 19 year old jay jay has a beautiul and individual voice. he also tells heartbreaking stories through his profound lyrics. wrap these in an addictive melody and you have his debut single ‚we are free‘. on the other side of the record ‚holly‘ is the tale of love and loss at its most precious. tear jerking strings and touchingly fragile piano add the finishing touches to this future classic. jay jay is starting to make waves on the same new folk scene that has catapulted the likes of kate nash, jamie t and jack penate into the limelight ovr the last year.
