Hat and beardDanke für die Kommentare, otis. Macht teilweise sehr neugierig. Mist nur, dass es jetzt wohl doch bis Ende Januar dauern wird, bis ich halbwegs alle relevanten 45s des Jahres habe.
Von den Singles, die otis beschrieb, wäre für mich lediglich die Brute Chorus essentiell. Einigen davon (Wolf People, Jack Penate, Plain White T’s, Imaginary Girlfriends) kann ich gar nichts abgewinnen. Die Creepy Morons-7″ (Freunde und Vorband von The Duke Spirit) hält leider nicht ganz, was beim Konzert versprochen wurde.

Bei der Imagenary Girlfriends habe ich die ganze Zeit überlegt, woran sie mich erinnert. Sehr eigenständig ist sie nicht, das Eklektische daran aber offensichtlich so deutlich gewollt und reflektiert inszeniert, dass es mir dann shcon wieder Spaß machte zuzuhören.
Die Black Lips haben übrigens ein wenig ihre Unschuld verloren, finde ich.--

Bored of sitting at home, James recorded one of his songs and sent the tape off to John Peel, who promptly played it. One of the Bad Jazz music moguls heard the show, loved the song, and put out this record.The A side song is a considerably different recording of Moving Up Country to the album version, and the B- side is a great song, currently unavailable anywhere else…in the opinion of some, but none who matter, it should have been the A side.
