jeden Tag Weihnachten… :lol: was ich kenne ist natürlich toll (Ashby, Coleman und Soft Machine), an einigen anderen hab ich gar keine Zweifel – erzähl mal wie die Farmer/… ist – wenn du mit dem Test fertig bist! nur von Black & Blue hab ich glaub ich noch kein einziges wirklich tolles Album gehört, auch wenn die auf dem Papier oft super aussehen…

Von Black & Blue kenne ich nur „Cold storage“ von Clarence Gatemouth Brown, jedoch wurden die Aufnahmen im Barclay Sudio und Condorcet Studio (Toulouse) gemacht, klingen hervorragend und unverkrampft, sind vielleicht sogar manch amerikanischer Produktion überlegen, weil sich kein Produzent eingemischt hat. Vielleicht meine liebsten Aufnahmen von Brown, und Milt Buckner (Orgel) ist ein fettes Plus. Jay McShann ist auch zu hören.

Tja, jetzt wart ich noch auf weitere JB Singles und ein grosses Mosaic-Paket (das seit Anfang Februar bestellt, dann mit dem Sale ergänzt und wegen eines Backorder-Sets erst seit einer Woche unterwegs ist) und noch ein paar verstreute Sachen (Gatos drei mir noch fehlende RCAs etwa) und dann ist mal wieder Schluss… aber solche Gelegenheiten im Secondhand-Laden kann ich mir einfach nicht entgehen lassen!
Auf der Letman B&B ist auch Hal Singer drauf übrigens – die Musik stammt von denselben Konzerten.
Die beste B&B für mich ist bisher die „Ya! Ya!“ von Budd Johnson (mit Charlie Shavers). Toll ist auch Guy Lafittes „The Things We Did Last Summer“, das ist aber eine neuere Aufnahme (1990 mit Jacky Terrasson).
„Them Their Eyes“ von Milt Buckner/Buddy Tate ist auch gut – nichts grossartiges, aber eben einfach, was man von Buddy Tate zu erwarten hat. Auch Arnett Cobbs „Wild Man from Texas“ passt in diese Schublade. Überraschend gut find ich zudem Cat Andersons „Plays W.C. Handy“ und auch ganz gut gefällt mir Harry Edisons „Just Friends“ (mit Lockjaw).
Aber wirklich viel kenn ich nicht (acht ältere, also 60er/70er, eine von 1983 und drei neuere aus den 90ern).--

nicht schlecht, ne? bei Parallel in Köln, wo CDs als minderwertige Produkte auch entsprechend bepreist sind (also 16 für beide zusammen, kein Jahrhundertschnäppchen aber trotzdem ziemlich gut..)
