Das neue Album von „The Spitfires“ habe ich nach einer längeren Hörprobe wieder ins Regal gestellt. Enttäuschend im Vergleich zu „Response“ und „A thousand times“.

Ooh, da bin ich einmal auf Deine Meinung zu gegebener Zeit gespannt.
Ich bin ja wahrlich ein Fan von Israel Nash, aber was ich bislang so im Netz vom neuen Album hören konnte, überzeugt mich leider nicht. Das scheint mir schon jetzt sein schwächstes zu sein, deshalb konnte ich mich bis jetzt auch nicht dazu durchringen, es zu ordern. Aber vielleicht täusche ich mich ja auch ….

@mr-blue: Mein vorläufiges Fazit ist auch, dass das neue Album an „Rain plans“ und „Silver season“ bei Weitem nicht heranreicht. Viel Wohlklang, opulent und prächtig präsentiert. Das alles ist zweifellos wieder da. Was ich weniger höre, ist die Verbindung zu Neil Young, den man auf den Vorgängern irgendwie immer mitzumischen glaubte. Etwas zu viel Friede, Freude, Eierkuchen. Nichts bricht mehr nach links und rechts aus. Alles ist an seinem Platz. Gute ***1/2. Nicht mehr.
