hier würde mich Deine Meinung interessieren, wenn Du zu diesem Album tiefergehende Eindrücke gewonnen hast.
Vor allem kommt es an den Vorgänger ran ?
Okay, gerne. 5 Durchläufe hat das Doppelalbum jetzt. Da erlaube ich mir ein erstes Fazit. Nein, es kommt nicht an „None the wiser“ heran. Es ist einfach, wie das bei Doppelalben halt hier und da der Fall ist, zu lang geraten. In der Spitze höre ich wieder gewohnt gutes „The Rifles“-Material („Groundhog day“, „Radio Nowhere“, „Jonny was a friend of mine“, „Misunderstood“). Mit gewohnt gut meine ich im „None the wiser“-Sinne. Ein neues „Local boy“ oder „Peace and quiet“ höre ich auch hier nirgends. Es ist alles sehr catchy, sorgt grundsätzlich für gute Laune, Musik für einen unbeschwerten Sommer-Tag.

Hmm, jetzt bin ich weiterhin am überlegen, ob ich mir das Doppelalbum (warum eigentlich, hätte doch alles locker auf 1 CD gepasst?) zulegen soll oder nicht. Ich hatte eigentlich schon gedacht, dass es an „None The Wiser“ herankommt, was für mich ein durchaus gutes und gelungenes Album darstellt. Aber für Dich reicht es da ja nicht ran bzw. nur in Ansätzen.
Ich wollte es Dir ja auch nicht einfach machen, sondern bei der Wahrheit bleiben. Wobei man unter dem Strich das Album schon mögen kann, wenn man „None the wiser“ mag. Und die genannten Tracks hätten auch auf dem Vorgänger-Album gut zu Gesicht gestanden.
