Mein 50,00 Euro Gutschein von jpc ist gekommen.
Den werde ich allerfeinst verbraten. Der April war aber eigentlich schon abgedeckt. Ich warte nur noch auf den nächsten Donnerstag. So 2-3 Sachen könnten dann noch zusätzlich im Warenkorb landen.

Teddy Thompson & Kelly Jones – Little windowsIn die Scheibe habe ich schon reingehört. Erinnert mich doch sehr an Uncle Tupelo. Das alte Gefühl mochte und mag sich aber nicht mehr einstellen. (natürlich auch ohne Frauenstimme(n))

LattenschussIn die Scheibe habe ich schon reingehört. Erinnert mich doch sehr an Uncle Tupelo. Das alte Gefühl mochte und mag sich aber nicht mehr einstellen.
Uncle Tupelo mag eine mögliche Referenz sein. Ich höre da aber noch einige andere Einflüsse. Walkabouts, Fleetwood Mac, Jayhawks, Wilco, Big Star und noch einiges mehr. Ob das am Ende zu einem einheitlichen und funktionierenden Ganzen geworden ist oder eher eine beliebige nicht zwingende Aneinanderreihung von Versatzstücken, darüber bin ich mir noch nicht im Klaren. Das Album ist aber auch erst einmal gelaufen bei mir. Das Mitwirken von u.a. Nels Cline, John Stirratt, Mikael Jorgensen, Lee Ranaldo und Chris Stamey hat mich neugierig gemacht.

Dafür ist dann auch die (gute) Stimme nicht stark genug. Oder nicht eigen genug. Oder was auch immer sich in den Ohren festsetzt.
In „Beautiful“ fühlt man sich ganz klar an Fleetwood Mac erinnert.
