Sind das denn andere Stücke als auf der Doppel CD „At the BBC“ von 1989? Die ist ganz brauchbar (vor allem die zweite Scheibe mit den Aufnahmen vor Publikum) – aber doch nicht so gut, dass ich alle Stücke nochmal als Bonus auf Reissues bräuchte.

Ich weiß, jetzt geht wieder ein Glaubenskrieg los, von wegen „Wie kannst Du sowas bloß schreiben!“. Deswegen noch mal unverfänglich: „Come Taste the Band ist einfach nicht mein Geschmack – dafür wissen Deep Purple bzw. deren Plattenfirmen immerhin, wie man Reissues macht.“

They released two singles in 1984, ‘The Colour Field’ and ‘Take’, before the release of ‘Thinking of You’ in January ‘85 took them into the UK Top 40, reaching number 12. Following the success of ‘Thinking of You’ the band released this, their debut album, to critical acclaim from the music press. It has since become a collectable and cherished album amongst fans. This long overdue reissue is the first time the album has been released on CD in the UK. DECEPTION

Terry Hall formed The Colourfield in 1983 with ex-Swinging Cats member Toby Lyons and bassist Karl Shale and released their debut album, ‘Virgins And Philistines’ in 1985. ‘Deception’, their long awaited follow up album, was released to mixed reviews in 1987. The album, produced by Sire Records founder Richard Gottehrer in New York, revealed a different direction to their debut. Shale had departed before the exhaustive recording sessions, during which they lost another founding member, Tony Lyons. The album was finished with the help of Roland Orzabal from Tears For Fears and Hollywood actress Raquel Welch’s backing band. The album included two cover versions, both released as singles. The first ‘Running Away’, a Sly Stone song, was remixed by Arthur Baker to generate dance floor interest. The second, ‘She’ (made famous by The Monkees) featured a duet with the emerging talent of Sinead O’Connor amongst its B sides. No further singles were released in the UK. This long overdue reissue has 7 bonus tracks from singles including their sole release of 1986, ‘Things Could Be Beautiful’, Hall’s first recorded collaboration with Ian Broudie of The Lightning Seeds. Wieso? Bis auf die DVD hat sich doch nichts geändert. Die Tracklist ist quasi identisch mit der 97er-Version. Der einzige Unterschied: Man hat sich in der Reihenfolge der Songs und dem Cover an der US- und nicht an der UK-Version orientiert.

Sehe ich auch so. Ich habe die 97er-US-Version mit den UK-only-Tracks als Bonus (also exakt die Tracklist der neuen Edition). Und klingen tut das olle Teil auch gut:lol:
