dummundfeigeDie TYA-Box ist doch eher ägerlich: da soll man alle CDs ohne Bonustracks (die z. B. „Undead“ erst richtig hörenwert machen) kaufen, nur für die paar Lieder auf der „Cap Ferrat“-Scheibe? Da hört der Spaß auf.
Stimme ich Dir zu, hindert mich auch am Kauf. Dennoch der Hinweis – soweit ich das richtig verstanden habe – dass die Alben in dem Set komplett wohl ein neues Remaster erhalten haben.

With the news that Metallica is remastering Masters of Puppets, their 1986 classic, and are packaging the set in several kinds of sets has made the community of fans delighted. Even more, the Super Deluxe Box will be massive in every sense of the word. Best of all, for the gradient level of fans, the album will be a targeted to all with matching price points.
On November 10, Rhino Records in conjunction with Blackened Records, will reissue Master Of Puppets to thoroughly provide the most definitive of the album.
Watch for the standard release of CD, DD, and vinyl LP. To expand for the growing fan, there will be a 3CD edition that provides the original album remastered, a CD with a collection of eleven demos, riffs from personal tapes, a few rough mixes of tracks, and an interview, and a 3rd CD with selected live performance tracks from various stops along the Damage, Inc tour. Das bedeutet dann ja wohl, dass das 54 Minuten Album weiterhin nur als einfache LP erscheinen wird. Schade, ich hätte mir eine Doppel-LP gewünscht.
Aber zuschlagen werde ich vermutlich dennoch bei der großen Box, ist schließlich eines meiner absoluten Lieblings-Alben. \m/--

QUEEN – „News Of The World“ (40th Anniversary 3CD/DVD/LP Box)
In what may be one of Rock’s most “DUH…!!” moment, Queen’s beloved News Of The World will be treated to a richly curated Deluxe Edition of the 1977 classic. With carefully researched finds and the original album, this 40th Anniversary of News Of The World will likely be the best reissue for many of 2017.
On November 17, Universal UK (for now) will release a massive and celebratory multi-disc set of News Of The World that will include the original album, two extra CDs of outtakes, live cuts from BBC sessions and other live shows, and an alternative version of the album. And that’s just the CDs. There is also a DVD with a one-hour documentary, Queen: The American Dream featuring film from the 1977 support tour. A vinyl LP of the album will be included. Finally, a gracious and defining 60-page book full of photos and words is included as well.

HÜSKER DÜ – “ Savage Young Dü“ (Box)
Numero Group’s 200th title is a big deal for any self-respecting ’80s punk fan: a triple-disc box set chronicling the rise of Minneapolis legends Hüsker Dü.
Savage Young Dü captures the band in studio and in concert from their humble beginnings in 1979 through the release of their debut studio album Everything Falls Apart in 1983–before their fateful signing by SST Records and their increasing awareness among the indie faithful. Singer/guitarist Bob Mould, singer/drummer Grant Hart and bassist Greg Norton began as an all-out, thrashing hardcore band, but their penchant for melodies not usually heard in the loudest clubs quickly set them apart from the pack.
The band earned enough recognition to sign to Warner Bros. in the mid-’80s, but by the end of the decade they broke up amid internal struggles stemming from the suicide of longtime manager David Savoy. Mould and Hart embarked on solo careers while Norton got into the restaurant business, and Hüsker Dü has largely avoided nostalgia in the years since. (Most of this was out of necessity, thanks to an ongoing dispute with SST over royalties that prevented the kind of catalogue activity a band of their stature would normally get. Mould and Hart did spontaneously reunite onstage for two songs during a benefit concert in 2004.)
In recent years, there is at least active communication between the band members, resulting in official social channels and some merchandising deals–and now, four years after Numero reissued and expanded their debut single for Record Store Day in 2013, Savage Young Dü lifts the curtain on the roots of this seminal band, in a newly-assembled, fully-remastered set featuring 69 tracks–47 of which have never seen release. (The released tracks, at our count, include the contents of the “Amusement”/”Statues” single, Numero’s vault material from that 2013 reissue, the “In a Free Land” single and B-sides, and a remaster of Everything Falls Apart that was made available digitally earlier this summer.) Additional highlights include demos, outtakes, unreleased songs and an “alternate” version of the band’s 1982 live album Land Speed Record, taken from a no-holds-barred set at a Twin/Tone Records showcase in Minneapolis in September 1981, two weeks after the recording of the set featured on the released album.
Savage Young Dü, which ships in November, will also feature a 108 or 144-page hardcover book (depending on format) featuring flyers, sessionography, 40 previously unpublished photographs and a 12,000 word essay by Erin Osmon. It’s all packed in a linen-lined slipcase. Fans can also pre-order a bundle with a 7″ EP, Extra Circus, featuring five outtakes from the sessions that produced the band’s Metal Circus EP in 1983.

R.E.M. has an anniversary arriving for Automatic For The People. Originally released in 1992, 2017 marks the 25th Anniversary for the classic album that spawned well over eighteen million units of sales. In addition to the massive sales of the album, there were six singles pulled from the set that include “Drive”, “Man On The Moon”, “The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight”, “Everybody Hurts”, “Nightswimming”, and “Find The River”. You’ll be hard pressed to find yourself not familiar with any one of those songs. Plus, if you’re a serious R.E.M. fan, then the entire album is well-known to you.

Hallo. Du hattest doch vor einiger Zeit etwas zu den Alben der kanadischen Band „The Straightlines“ geschrieben. Gibt es die inzwischen schon?
Ja, klar. Sind ja vor fast einem Monat in JP veröffentlicht worden. Man konnte natürlich nichts an großartiger Aufmachung erwarten, sind somit ganz normale CD-Veröffentlichungen geworden, mit ordentlichem Klang. Bei dem Preis kann man nichts falsch machen. Ich jedenfalls habe gerade beim erstmaligen (Wieder-)Hören in Erinnerungen geschwelgt.
