Schade, dass „Diary Of A Hollow Horse“ nicht auch zum Nice Price dabei ist.
Zudem stehen die Chancen, dass die Remaster gut klingen und nicht kaputt komprimiert sind auch sehr gut, soll sich doch Andy Pearce um das Mastering gekümmert haben.

@ rowi: die Preise sind wirklich sehr gut, hatte letzte Woche auch gleich bestellt, wobei ich aber per Zufall darüber gestolpert war, weil der Interpret mit CHINA CRISES geschlüsselt war … hat man aber zwischenzeitlich doch korrigiert.
Und gerade bei den Preisen: klare Kaufempfehlung!

Manchmal geschehen noch Wunder: beide DeLuxeEditions sind am 04. August tatsächlich veröffentlicht worden. Bemerkenswert: auf dem Cover sind die Produktionsjahre 2014 und 2015 angegeben, also die Jahre, in denen die VÖ ursprünglich stattfinden sollte.

Bryan Ferry has revealed that the long-awaited and much delayed box set of Roxy Music‘s 1972 eponymous debut will be released in November.
Speaking to the Santa Barbara Noozhawk website the 71-year old said “This November, we are releasing a new special edition box set of the first Roxy Music album, complete with the original demo recordings and loads of previously unpublished photographs”.Before fans get their hopes up too much, it should be noted that Ferry had previously told another journalist that this would be delivered last year… “probably, July 2016”.

WHITESNAKE – „1987“ (Remastered Expanded 30th Anniversary Edition)
On October 6, Rhino Records will provide several iterations of a 30th Anniversary Edition. The new reissue will feature brand new remastering. In the versions being released, there are a single CD with just the newly remastered album, a 2CD Deluxe edition featuring extra tracks, a 2LP vinyl set, and a massive 4CD/1DVD Super Deluxe Box.
The Super Deluxe Box will provide the original album, a CD of unreleased live tracks that had Vandenberg, Campbell, and Aldridge at the helm, alongside David Coverdale. The performance tracks were recorded from the band’s 1987-1988 support tour. Another CD adds in eleven unreleased demo and rehearsal recordinngs that include early versions of songs from the album. The final CD provides newly remixed versions of the four previously mentioned hit singles along with rare radio mixes and songs from 87 Versions, an exclusive EP issued in Japan.
The DVD features the four singles videos, restored and remixed in 5.1 Surround. There is a 30-minite documentaru of the making of Whitesnake. Plus, there is a newly filmed video of “Here I Go Again”, and unreleased live footage from the 1987-1988 tour.
The Book inside the Box will be a 60-page hardbound book with photos, essay, song lyrics, and more.

STEVE HILLAGE – „Düsseldorf“ (2CD) [22.09.2017]
A classic 1979 live concert from pioneering guitarist Steve Hillage. Includes the only known live recording of Talking to the Sun. Recorded at the Philips Halle, Düsselsdorf on the 28th March 1979 during the Live Herald Tour, Düsselsdorf offers excellent sound quality (a quality so high that you’ll forget it’s a live recording until the applause). Featuring the Hillage band at the height of its powers, with Steve in great voice throughout, Düsselsdorf contains Steve’s own adventurous compositions plus covers of Beatles and Donovan classics. Hillage’s trademark heady combination of vibrant Psychedelic Rock, full blooded grooves, and deep-space synth/guitar experiments has rarely sounded as good.

BILL BRUFORD – „Seems Like A Lifetime Ago 1977-1980“ (6CD/2DVD-A) [27.10.2017]
Containing the collected works of Bruford on one extraordinary 6cd/2dvd-a box set, Seems Like A Lifetime Ago is a magnificent testament to one of the UK’s most inventive and important Progressive Fusion bands.
Featuring 2017 remastered versions of the albums Feels Good To Me (1978), One Of A Kind (1979), The Bruford Tapes (1979), and Gradually Going Tornado (1980), the set additionally includes the previously unreleased Live At The Venue, 1980 and the highly sought after 4th Album Rehearsal Sessions (also from 1980).
Showcasing the prodigious talents of Bill Bruford, Dave Stewart, the late Allan Holdsworth (who the album is dedicated to), Jeff Berlin and The ‚Unknown‘ John Clark, the set includes a 16 page colour booklet (with band interviews and an essay written by Sid Smith), a reproduction concert poster, two black and white photo prints of the band, and a signed and numbered certificate of authentication.

IAN DURY – „New Boots And Panties!!“ (40th Anniversary Edition – 4CD+LP Hardcover Book) [VÖ: 27.10.2017]
Ian Dury, like Ray Davies and Paul Weller was a very English talent. The colourful, metropolis inhabiting characters like Billericay Dickie or Plaistow Patricia he sung about and the ever so cockney music hall accent he chose to sing in were a big part of that. But most of all it was the detailed, poetic way he catalogued English life and the melting pot of musical styles used to do so, from punk to funk to jazz and rock ‘n’ roll, which left the listener in no doubt that Dury’s work could only come from one place: The very heart of England.
New Boots And Panties!! Was the debut album for Ian Dury, originally released on Stiff Records in 1977.
It’s often cited as one of the first classic UK punk albums, the record covers a diverse range of musical styles reflecting Dury’s influences and background in pub rock, taking in funk, disco, British music hall and early rock and roll.
It’s considered Dury’s best album and it was also his most successful after it was certified Platinum in the UK 2 years after its release.
Packaged in a 12×12 hardcover book, this is the most comprehensive version of the album to date.

TEN YEARS AFTER 1967 – 1974 (10 CD Box Set) [Lim.Edit. – 1500]
Chrysalis Records are proud to release a limited edition, 50th Anniversary 10 CD Box Set celebrating the band’s first nine albums, plus a CD of previously unreleased material.
November 2017 will be the 50th Anniversary of the eponymous debut album by ‘Ten Years After’ from 1967. To celebrate this special occasion Chrysalis Records will release a brand new limited edition 10 CD Box Set, gathering for the first time, albums from both the Chrysalis and Deram periods from 1967 to 1974.
This set, limited to 1,500 copies worldwide, contains LPs which have been remastered from the original 1/4″ production master tapes along with bonus disc entitled ‘The Cap Ferrat Sessions’, which consists of never heard before recordings from 1972, newly mixed by acclaimed record producer Chris Kimsey.
The package comes in a luxury hardback format with slipcase and an accompanying book which includes a newly commissioned, in-depth 10,000 word sleeve notes written by legendary Melody Maker journalist and early champion of the band, Chris Welch. It charts the band’s progress from their early beginnings in Nottingham, through iconic appearances at the Woodstock and the Isle of Wight festivals, right up to their eventual split in 1974. There are extensive interviews with the remaining band members plus members of Alvin Lee’s family, and additional recording notes by Chris Kimsey.
Ten Years After stormed the stages of rock, they created a sensation that stunned audiences and quickly won them a coveted place among the pantheon of great British groups. Alvin Lee – one of the most charismatic and admired guitar players to emerge from the British blues boom of the era and deservedly ranked alongside his contemporaries Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix – headed a powerful team of talented musicians, Leo Lyons, Chick Churchill and Ric Lee.
During an intense seven-year period, they embarked on marathon tours, conquering America, enjoying success round the world, whilst also unleashing a succession of ground breaking albums. Their 1967 debut ‘Ten Years After’ was swiftly followed by pioneering live album ‘Undead’ (1968) through the critically acclaimed ‘A Space In Time’ (1971), featuring one of their finest songs ‘I’d Love To Change The World’, which is very apt in today’s world, ending with 1974’s ‘Positive Vibrations’.
‘The Cap Ferrat Sessions’ came as a result of a discovery by Alvin Lee’s wife, who found a box of recordings deep in the vaults of the studio in their house they shared in Spain. They originate from the ‘Rock N Roll Music To The World’ album sessions, which were recorded at a seaside villa in Cap Ferrat, South of France and Olympic Studios in London. Chrysalis Records turned to world renowned producer Chris Kimsey (whose credits include the Rolling Stones, Bad Company, and Peter Frampton), who recorded and engineered the original sessions, to mix these tracks for the first time.
Revisiting the tapes, some 45 years later Kimsey added, ‘Alvin and the band were incredibly creative and abundant during this period. These re-discovered recordings were not rough demos, not rehearsals, but completed masters that did not make the album due to the time limitations of vinyl at the time. So these gems were left off. Mixing this in 2017 I began to study the parts, the playing, the response of each musician. It was amazing! It is what all great recordings are made of.’
For avid collectors and fans of the band, the legendary Cap Ferrat sessions will have a special appeal and will be an essential addition to their collection. This is a big deal for classic rock lovers and aficionados all over the world.

Die TYA-Box ist doch eher ägerlich: da soll man alle CDs ohne Bonustracks (die z. B. „Undead“ erst richtig hörenwert machen) kaufen, nur für die paar Lieder auf der „Cap Ferrat“-Scheibe? Da hört der Spaß auf.
