Universal hat für den 11.09. ein 8-CD-Box-Set angekündigt:
CD Set featuring all 6 studio albums remastered from the original tapes, with 30 previously unreleased recordings including Outtakes, Demos and Rarities along with Live concerts from 1975 and 1977.
Also contains a 72 Page hard cover book featuring brand new essays plus many rare and previously unpublished photographs.
Sleevenotes for the box set are split between the Island Years, written by Patrick Humphries author of “”Richard Thompson: The Biography”” ( 1997 ) / “”Nick Drake: The Biography”” ( 1999 ) and the post-Island Years by Mick Houghton, author of the 2016 Sandy Denny biography, “”I’ve Always Kept A Unicorn””.

Für die Vinylliebhaber sei daraus zitiert:
The box set will be joined by the vinyl release of Fleetwood Mac 1973-1974, a 4-LP/1-7″ collection. It includes the 1974 concert plus Penguin (1973), Mystery to Me (1973) and Heroes Are Hard to Find (1974) in their original album sequences. Lacquers for the albums were cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering from the original analog tapes. They will be pressed on 140-gram vinyl and housed in replica sleeves. The box’s 7-inch single has the mono promo edit of “For Your Love” on one side and the previously unreleased outtake “Good Things (Come to Those Who Wait)” on the flipside.
A limited, colored vinyl version of this box will also be available exclusively from Rhino.com with Penguin in yellow, Mystery to Me in orange, Heroes Are Hard to Find in gold, and the concert on white vinyl. The single will be pressed on blue vinyl.

https://www.analogplanet.com/content/all-analog-reissues-early-reprise-era-fleetwood-mac-lps-coming-rhinoMy suspicion is that original tapes or any good usable tapes were unavailable of Then Play on, Kiln House, Future Games and Bare Trees and that’s why they weren’t included in the vinyl box set, because in my opinion those are the best of this time period that ended just before Buckingham/Nicks joined the band. If you are unfamiliar with those post blues band/pre pop band Fleetwood Mac, you are in for a treat if you can find clean used copies. The band had an almost Fairport Convention-like folky, wistful sound. Future Games recorded by Martin Rushent at Advision is particularly well-recorded. None of these records charted well but they are musically well-worth checking out.
