Grad heimgekommen, den Briefkasten geplündert … es gab noch Strauss‘ „Elektra“ (Mitropoulos 1957) und die ICON von Hans Hotter. Es läuft jetzt aber Gieseking mit Beethoven-Sonaten (CD 3) – sehr toll!
Die dritte CD mit den fünf Beethoven-Sonaten lief die ganze Zeit – wunderbar!
Jetzt die vierte mit dem vierten und fünften Klavierkonzert Beethovens, das Philharmonia unter Karajan spielt mit (neben, für, hinter, unter, zwischen) Gieseking, aufgenommen wurde 1951, fünf Jahre vor den Sonaten.--

Horowitz plays Scriabin – diese CD ist erstmals im Player, aber was ich von seinem Scriabin bisher gehört habe, hat mir sehr gut gefallen, mal schauen, wie sich das neben Sofronitzky anhört.

Jetzt die RCA-Aufnahmen, die CD sah früher einzeln ander aus, für die Original Jackets-Box von 2010 hat man das hübsche Originalcover hervorgekramt (und das gleiche Photo auch gleich fürs Cover der Box gebraucht).
Gefällt mir sehr gut, auch wenn Horowitz wohl manchmal etwas zu sehr donnert.

Ich kenne zwar von Clementi noch gar nichts abgesehen von einigen Horowitz-Einspielungen, aber wie sein Scarlatti gefällt mir das sehr, sehr gut. Sein Ton ist klar und wunderschön, von einer Wärme, wie ich sie bei ihm selten höre.
Das abgebildete Album wurde in der Jackets-Box um die Sonate C-dur Op. 33 Nr. 3 erweitert (ein Arrangement eines Klavierkonzerts, wenn ich das richtig verstehe). In der „Great Sonatas“-Box findet sich diese sowie jeweils ein Einzelsatz aus den Sonaten B-dur Op. 25 Nr. 3, A-dur Op. 50 Nr. 1 und Es-dur Op. 12 Nr. 2. Die will ich nachher auch gleich noch anhören.--

Die beiden Mozart-Sonaten, die sich in obiger Box finden, K 331 (1966) und K 332 (1947), danach noch Schuberts B-dur Sonate (D 960) (1953), auch aus der Box.

Die sechste CD aus der zweiten „Original Jackets“ Box von Horowitz … neben den beiden Sonaten der LP finden sich auf der CD noch Samuel Barber Sonate Op. 26 sowie Prokofiefs Toccata Op. 11, Faurés Nocturne No. 13 Op. 119 und Poulencs Presto in b-moll.

Ich hab das Violinkonzert (Oistrach mit dem USSR Symphonieorchester unter Eliasberg) und sehe gerade, dass es in der grossen Ciccolini-Box auch noch ein einziges Stück gibt (Sonatine No. 1 in C, Op. 13), zudem eine Ouverture (Colas Breugnon) in der Toscanini-Box, an die ich mich noch nicht gewagt habe.
Womit könnte ich denn weitermachen?

Das Cover der CD wurde für die Box bearbeitet … die fünfte Sonate, die auch auf dem CD-Cover genannt wird, ist allerdings nicht zu hören, dafür Stücke aus Humoreske Op. 20, Fantasiestücke Op. 111 und Nachtstücke Op. 23.

Wonach kann ich mich da umschauen?
Kennt jemand die Streichquartette von Weinberg in den Einspielungen des Quatuor Danel?
Die Symphonien? Yuri Kalnits (oder andere) Einspielungen der Violinsonaten? Die Klavierstücke, die Formenti ausgegraben hat, scheinen auch auf CD vorzuliegen, aber leider nicht von ihm ….
Und Schulhoff? Irgendwelche Empfehlungen?
