Bin gespannt, was du sagst. Vor allem zu der Aufnahme der Elster. Vorhin noch mal gehört. Spätestens ab etwa zu Beginn der 4. Minute könnte ich jedes mal vor Freude durchs Zimmer springen.
Aber Rossini-Ouvertüren sind sowieso wie für mich gemacht.

Die Mezzo-Sopranistin Joyce DiDonato mit Arien, die Rossini für Isabella Colbran, seine Muse und spätere Frau geschrieben hat. Sie stammen aus „Armida“, „La donna del lago“, „Maometto II“, „Elisabetta, regina d’Inghilterra“, „Semiramide“ und „Otello“ – alles Opern, die ich noch nicht kenne … begleitet wird DiDonato vom Chor und Orchester der Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rom unter Edoardo Müller. Der Tenor Lawrence Brownlee stösst für ein Duett aus „Otello“ dazu.

Zur Nacht mal wieder Peanut Butter Sammich mit etwas Schubert … die CD lief neulich schon, aber der Schlummer erfasste mich umgehend (noch bevor „Secret Love“ verklungen war) (bei mir läuft CD 9 aus der kleinen Box)

Vorhin Badura-Skoda mit den Sonaten D 571/604/570 und D 850 (CD 5 der Box), jetzt Bilson mit D 850 und 586 (CD 1 der Box).

CD #5: 9. Symphonie, NBC Symphony Orchestra, 1939Es ist nahezu unvorstellbar, mit welchem Furor und wanhsinnigem Tempo Toscanini hier durch die einzelnen Sätze eilt! Fast schon hart an der Grenze zur Farce, aber dennoch kippts nicht um. Es funktioniert alles und fällt nicht auseinander. Vom alten Furtwängler gibts eine ähnlich brutale Bearbeitung, nämlich die vom März 1942. Da klingen die Pauken auch wie Flakgeschütze.

Und heute lag endlich die vor einem Monat bestellte CD mit der „vocal chamber music“ von Lukas Foss im Briefkasten!
