Ellis ist bestimmt kein besonders guter Pianist, aber die Begegnung mit Eddie macht Spass! Als Bonus gibt’s auf der CD vier Klavier-Duos mit Jonathan Batiste und dann einen letzten Track im Quartett, mit Batiste (Melodica), Jason Stewart (Bass) und Jason Marsalis (Drums). Die Bonustracks stammen von 2009, die LP von 1985.

Ziemlich lärmige Sache, ohne Struktur … die File-Häufchen, die ich bisher hatte, mochte ich nie zu Ende hören, jetzt gilt es aber ernst. Watts‘ erstes Tenorsolo ist schon mal ganz schön, Sharrock klingt dann leider ziemlich dünn, das Problem des Spielzeuginstrumentes halt, wenn es nicht richtig abgemischt ist. Aber doch doch, doch, das scheint sich schon zu lohnen!
Man bemüht sich übrigens bei ESP, ein korrektes Exemplar von Wright für mich aufzutreiben, anscheinend ist die CD momentan nicht an Lager, was ja nur ein gutes Zeichen sein kann!

Noch nicht, habe sie aber zufällig seit kurzem auf dem Merkzettel, weil sie mir zusammen mit einigen anderen im Werbetext zu „Exit!“ auffiel:

Centipede ist natürlich auch wegen der Nähe zu King Crimson interessant.
