Bei Letzterem ist die Jubilarin klasse, während „Don`t Explain“ in meinem Kopf/Herzen immer von Helen Merill gehaucht werden wird (und ich nach den ersten zwei Strophen immer schon nach dem Weltmeistereinstieg von Clifford Brown sieche……)

Weil sie mehr Zeit haben wollen, um Musik zu spielen!
Die späte Billie (das gerade jetzt, „I’m a Fool to Want You“) bleibt eine Grenzerfahrung.

Hm, wenn sie artikulierter oder unaffektierter atmen würden, bliebe dieselbe Zeit für die Wörter. War aber wirklich nur eine Nebenfrage.
Bei „I’m a Fool to Want You“ bin ich noch nicht, ich höre die Sendung im Stream.

Ich mag jetzt nicht zum Stream, um die frühen Sachen zu hören (vermutlich ist das allerletzte Stück der Sendung eh das einzige, das ich nicht schon kannte) – stattdessen:
Zum Auftakt Holidays Set vom Stratford Shakespeare Festival 1957 mit Mal Waldron (und wohl einem lokalen kanadischen Rhythmusgespann – keine Ahnung, ob im Booklet was zu denen steht), dann eine Mischung aus Interview-Auschnitten und einzelnen Stücken verschiedenster Provenienz (mit Bobby Tucker 1947, mit Hot Lips Page, Ram Ramirez und anderen 1945, mit Neal Hefti, Herbie Harper, Herbie Stewart, Jimmy Roslwe und anderen 1949, mit Joe Bushkin, Jack Lesberg, Eddie Condon und George Wettling ebenfalls 1949, mit unbekannter Band 1950, mit Orchester und Mal Waldron bei der BBC 1959).
