Hatte ich so halbweg abgespeichert … dann ist ja auch alles gut mit „Lady Sings the Blues“. Frag mich nicht, warum, aber bei mir funktionierte die damals als Einstieg einfach nur halbwegs – einzelne Songs fand ich sofort umwerfend, andere packten mich gar nicht.

How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people?gypsy tail wind…dann ist ja auch alles gut mit „Lady Sings the Blues“. Frag mich nicht, warum, aber bei mir funktionierte die damals als Einstieg einfach nur halbwegs – einzelne Songs fand ich sofort umwerfend, andere packten mich gar nicht.
Bei mir wird es funktionieren, egal wo ich weitermache. Ich hatte zu CD-Zeiten schon ein 10-CD-Package, habe also schon einiges gehört. Billie ist nichts weniger als hinreißend.

Klar, aber das begriff ich als Teenager noch nicht so richtig … manches packte mich sofort, anderes brauchte seine Zeit.

Läuft übrigens gerade per Stream. Oha, die ist in der Tat richtig gut, die Tunes sind ausgezeichnet ausgewählt und auch hier fällt mir für Hawkins‘ Spiel keine andere Umschreibung als elegant und vornehm ein. Sehr cool auch, wie Herb Ellis am Ende vom „Blues For Yolande“ beinahe dreckig wird. Ganz toll, brauche ich auf Vinyl.
