Ich habe es zusammen mit einem anderen Live-Album gekauft, das aus der gleichen Zeit stammt. Das heißt einfach „live“ und statt einer bombastischen „olé“-Version ist eine bombastische „you’ve got to have freedom“-Version drauf.
LIVE kenne und liebe ich, aber das ist auch klar, da ist john hicks der pianist. deshalb klingt sie auch anders, obwohl bei beiden das publikum ähnlich enthusiastisch ist. und bill henderson ist eben auch ein toller pianist, der viel zu unbekannt ist.

Mir kam eine lässig altmodische Stimmung, da habe ich dies mal rausgekramt.
Eine etwas obskure Zusammenstellung von zwei Aufnahmedates, Studio und live, mit Coltrane Adderley, Evans, Garland, Chambers, Cobb und Philly Jones, die es auch mit anderem Cover als 58 Session Featuring Stella By Starlight gibt.

Mir kam eine lässig altmodische Stimmung, da habe ich dies mal rausgekramt.
Eine etwas obskure Zusammenstellung von zwei Aufnahmedates, Studio und live, mit Coltrane Adderley, Evans, Garland, Chambers, Cobb und Philly Jones, die es auch mit anderem Cover als 58 Session Featuring Stella By Starlight gibt.
Seeehr lässig.
Das beste Stück vo nder 1958er-Session, „Love for Sale“, fehlt da leider wohl, ja? (Es erschien auf einer der diversen Reste-Rampen, die Columbia zusammenstellte … und auf „58 Session“ ebenfalls (ein Alternate von „Fran Dance“ gibt es auch noch, aber „Love for Sale“ ist das Highlight).
