Ricky Ford – Loxodonta Africana (New World, 1977/CD: 1997) | leider kann ich die beiden Trompeter, Charles Sullivan und Oliver Beener – ich kenne sie beide praktisch nicht (Beener kann man ja nicht wirklich kennen, er ist eine legendäre Nebenrolle im Drama des Tina Brooks) – nicht wirklich auseinanderhalten. Ansosten sind zu hören: Bob Neloms (p – war mal kurz bei Mingus), Richard Davis (b – needs no introdcution) und Dannie Richmond (d – war mal kurz nicht bei Mingus), zudem auf ein zwei der sieben Stücke James Spaulding (as), Janice Robinson (tb) und Jonathan Dorn (tuba), ein Stück gehört ganz Ford, ein Feature über „My Romance“ mit der Rhythmusgruppe.

danke für den Hinweis – nur als LP greifbar nehme ich an? Ich hätte natürlich gerne was mit Boorks aus den Sechzigern, aber das Umfeld, in dem die beiden sich bewegten, lag wohl weit unterhalb der Wahrnehmungsschwelle von irgendwelchen Radio-Sendern
