Und leider mußte auch im Halbfinale wieder gelost werden: „Hector’s Out“ hatte dabei das Glück auf seiner Seite gegenüber „Time Ain’t Nothing“.
Das zweite Halbfinale ging relativ eindeutig zugunsten „Two Lovers (Waitin‘ to Die)“ aus, das „Little Things in Life“ wenig Chancen ließ.„Two Lovers (Waitin‘ to Die)“ damit für mich jetzt auch Favorit im Finale.
Und für mich überraschend (nach den Vorrunden aber vielleicht schon absehbar): das Finale ist eine reine Angelegenheit zwischen zwei Tracks aus „Scapegoats“; diese Wertschätzung für „Scapegoats“ hätte ich vorher nicht so erwartet (auch wenn diese Platte im Lauf des Turniers überdurchschnittlich von den Losentscheiden profitiert hat).

Bin beruflich momentan unterwegs und habe wenig Zeit. Deshalb werde ich das Green on Red-Turnier erst am Donnerstagabend hier im Forum nochmals Revue passieren lassen.
Werde am Donnerstagabend auch meine TOP 20 einstellen.

Abschließend noch ein paar Gedanken zum Turnier von mir.
Erste (negative) Überraschung: die geringe Beteiligung. Sicherlich war hier die Urlaubszeit nicht gerade förderlich; hatte dennoch erwartet, daß Green on Red fürs Forum von größerer Relevanz sei.
Zweite Überraschung: die relativ starke Wertschätzung der „späteren“ Green on Red-Platten, die sich u.a. auch darin geäußert hat, daß „Scapegoats“ 3 Tracks ins Halbfinale durchbekommen und auch die beiden Finalisten gestellt hat. Im Achtelfinale stammte die Hälfte der Tracks aus den drei letzten Platten „This Time Around“, „Scapegoats“ und „Too Much Fun“. Hätte hier eigentlich mit deutlich mehr Zuspruch für die „Klassiker“ wie „Gas Food Lodging“, „No Free Lunch“, „The Killer inside Me“ und v.a. „Here Come the Snakes“ gerechnet, das ich bei einigen Forumsteilnehmern als deren Lieblingsalbum in Erinnerung hatte. Mit dem schlechten Abschneiden von „Gravity Talks“ und den beiden ersten EPs war dagegen nach meiner Erwartung zu rechnen.
Bei den Tracks „Two Lovers (Waitin‘ to Die)“, „Time Ain’t Nothing“ und „Morning Blue“ erwartungsgemäß weit vorne dabei, während ich das gute Ergebnis für „Hector’s Out“, „Little Things in Life“ und „5 Easy Pieces“ als überraschend bezeichnen würde. Deutlich stärker eingeschätzt hätte ich „Sixteen Ways“, das ich ganz vorne erwartet hatte, aber auch solche „Klassiker“ wie „Hair of the Dog“, „Keith Can’t Read“, „The Drifter“, „That’s What Dreams“ und „Sea of Cortez“ hätte ich weiter vorne verortet.
Abschließend nochmals ein Dankeschön an alle Teilnehmer.
