Todd Haynes, der Regisseur von „Far from Heaven“ plant einen Film über Bob Dylan. Der Titel ist: „I’m Not There: Suppositions on a Film Concerning Dylan“.

Director Todd Haynes is attracting a cast that includes Cate Blanchett, Colin Farrell, Adrien Brody, Richard Gere, Julianne Moore and Charlotte Gainsbourg to his I’m Not There, an unconventional film bio of Bob Dylan.

Variety says the deals are not set in stone, but financing on the film is expected to coalesce in Cannes.

As envisioned by writer/helmer Haynes, the movie follows seven characters, each embodying a different aspect of Dylan’s life story and music. I’m Not There is the first biographical feature project to secure the approval of the pop culture icon.

The project, being produced through Killer Films and Wells Productions, had been set up at Paramount last year, but has fallen off the studio’s slate following its recent regime shift.

Filmmakers plan a fall start, but scheduling could be the key to keeping the stars lined up for Haynes‘ dream project.

Killer has Dylan’s bio rights. The songwriter’s autobiography „Chronicles, Volume One“ was published in October.“
