Jetzt schon 62 Jahre Rock 'n' RollIch wünschte, ich würde die Band so sehr lieben wie ihr bzw. so sehr, wie ich Belle & Sebastian liebe (die mich auf Felt brachten).

„Me And A Monkey On The Moon“ * * * 1/2Die Stimme von Lawrence erreicht mich, wenn sie steif und ausdrucksarm Dylan mit Reed vermengt, so gut wie gar nicht. Erst auf „Me And A Monkey“ löst sich stimmlich und musikalisch weitgehend das Versprechen ein, das ich mir erhofft hatte: Schmelz, Träumerei und ein gutes Gespür für Melodien und Songstrukturen.

Nein, leider nicht, pinch. Er ist okay…stilistisch ist das ja an sich total „meine Linie“ – Folk-Pop, jangly guitars und Kirmes-Orgel. Aber mir kommt das meiste sehr nüchtern vor. Und der Gesang gibt mir dann oft noch „den Rest“.
Zu den wenigen Höhepunkten auf den Felt-LPs zähle ich „Mobile Shack“, „Free“, „Rain Of Crystal Spires“, „New Day Dawning“ und vielleicht noch die ersten beiden Tracks auf „Poem Of The River“. Ich habe drei der fünf Platten nun schon seit einem dreiviertel Jahr, und habe es mehrfach versucht.
