Nach ca. 5 1/2 Jahren ist hier auch mal ein Update fällig. Seit September 2012 habe ich mich weitestgehend durch das alte Ranking gehört, welches immerhin 461 Alben enthielt, die nach dem letzten Update mit ****1/2 und ***** bewertet wurden. Davon konnten 14 Alben diesen Standard nicht mehr halten. Im Bereich von ***** Sternen sind es jetzt 9 Alben weniger als noch vor 5 Jahren, nämlich exakt 125.

Besonders freut mich dein Platz 49, Nick Cave – No more shall we part. Ich führe ja keine Listen, aber vom Gefühl her wäre das Album bei mir sogar noch etwas höher angesiedelt.
Und von den Dire Straits liegt bei mir Love over gold deutlich vor Dire Straits.--
And all the pigeons adore me and peck at my feet Oh the fame, the fame, the fameKenne 19 Alben aus der Liste. Nach wie vor freut mich die hohe Platzierung von „Heaven Up Here“. Ist zwar bei mir in der Zwischenzeit ein wenig gefallen, aber auf jeden Fall noch ein *****- Album, dass auf seine tragisch- theatralische Art höchstens von Cure’s „Pornography“ überboten wird.

Es sind zwar nicht die absoluten Überflieger des Albums, welches aber in seiner Gesamtheit meine Nr. 1 ist. Und „Love you to“ ist in letzter Zeit sogar eher noch gewachsen. zu 2) die Kinks-LP gleichen Namens (****1/2) ist ein hervorragendes Album, taucht im aktuellen Ranking aber erst auf Platz 258 auf. Hier geht es um eine Live-Doppel-LP eben von Steve Harley aus 1977 mit all seinen (großen?) Hits. Ein bestechendes Dokument seiner Klasse. zu 3) „Damals hinterm Mond“ ist ein weiteres sehr gutes EoC-Album (****1/2) und rangiert auf Platz 403. Davor allerdings steht bei mir noch „Mittelpunkt der Welt“ (Platz 372). „Romantik“ ist ein gutes Album (****), welches aber in meiner Gesamtliste nicht mehr aufgeführt ist.

Um Himmels Willen. Da musst Du nochmal nachjustieren. Bei mir kämen im internen Band-Ranking noch manch andere Dire Straits-Alben vor „Love over gold“ (***).
Hello_SkinnyNach wie vor freut mich die hohe Platzierung von „Heaven Up Here“. Ist zwar bei mir in der Zwischenzeit ein wenig gefallen, aber auf jeden Fall noch ein *****- Album, dass auf seine tragisch- theatralische Art höchstens von Cure’s „Pornography“ überboten wird.
Das freut mich, auch wenn „Pornography“ aus meiner Sicht hier niemals das Wasser reichen kann. „Heaven up here“ ist ein absoluter Fixstern.

Aus meiner musikalischen Sicht eine sehr gelungene Liste. Bei dir überwiegt das „Oldschool“-Moment etwas mehr als bei mir. Jedoch bist du auch Punk & Wave aufgeschlossener als viele andere.
Einziges Manko aus meiner Sicht: Neu(er)e Sachen schaffen es auch bei dir nicht auf Anhieb in die TOP-Liste. Wenn mich etwas total umhaut ist der Weg in meine Liste wohl etwas kürzer
… und nur einmal Graham Parker, wenn ich nichts überlesen habe, wundert mich auch ein bisschen …
Highlight sind natürlich Echo & The Bunnymen auf Platz 6 !!!

Ich sehe/höre diese Tracks, nur weil sie nicht zu den überragenden des Albums gehören, eben nicht als Schwäche, deswegen ist die Formulierung „bei Dir fallen die Schwächen also nicht so arg ins Gewicht“ nicht korrekt. In einer Track by Track-Bewertung des Albums würde derzeit einzig „Yellow submarine“ weniger als ****1/2 bekommen.

Es sind in den letzten Jahren tatsächlich deutlich weniger Alben, die mich „umgehauen“ haben, obwohl ich tendenziell mehr neue Musik als früher wahrnehme. So haben es in den letzten drei Jahren nur 2 Alben auf ***** gebracht und 15 Alben auf ****1/2. Das ist tatsächlich eher wenig.

Graham Parker hat einige gute Alben veröffentlicht, aber in meinen Ohren nichts auch nur annähernd so Fantastisches wie „Howlin‘ wind“.

Eine Liste die das Herz höher schlagen läßt.
Mit dem was ich aus der Liste nicht kenne, müßte ich mich mal beschäftigen, denn wenn es Dir gefällt dürfte es nicht unberührt an mir vorbei gehen.:-)
