Diese sind die Übereinstimmungen mit meiner Top100, doch einige.

Dafür die schon von anderer Seite geäußterte Verwunderung über Meat Loaf (!), „The River“ (Du hast kein Problem mit stupiden Rockern wie „Ramrod“, „Out In The Street“ oder „I’m A Rocker“?) und auch die starke Wertschätzung von Elton John.

Bei Dylan kein „Highway“, „Blonde“ oder „Bringing“? Wie kommts?

Ansonsten erfreut v.a. die Auswahl der beiden Newman-Alben.

Weil ich das Special gerade mal wieder vor ein paar Tagen in der Badenwanne gelesen und die Ausgabe noch hier liegen habe, bitte sehr….

(ich persönlich finde außerhalb der Liste noch A Picture Of Me (Without You) (!!) und die Compilation Heartaches & Hangovers fantastisch! Ansonsten ist Blue & Lonesome die wohl gängige Einstiegsempfehlung.)

Es fällt auf, dass Deine liebsten Alben von Männerstimmen dominiert sind (nur 2 Frauen vertreten, plus Fleetwood Mac). Ganz sympathisch finde ich, dass Dir oft Werke wichtiger sind, die gemeinhin weniger geschätzt sind im jeweiligen Katalog, obwohl mir selber nicht viel aus Deiner Liste wirklich am Herzen liegt (doch 5 Alben würde ich den 5er geben). Sparks und Liza Minelli wären für mich von den unbekannten Platten interessant. Dennoch „Chapeau!“ für die Liste. Ich würde keine erstellen wollen.

Feine liste- hab mal die gelassen, die mir auch besonders am herzen liegen! Besonders gefreut haben mich die plätze 21, 56, 58, 70 und ganz besonders: 84. urge overkill!!! Das beste album dieser fantastischen band, die, von dem pulp fiction hype mal abgesehen, nie auch nur annähernd den verdienten erfolg hatte!!!

Supergrass irritiert mich – das genannte Album, nicht die Band.

Überrascht mich allerdings auch etwas- ich finde, dass das eine der schwächeren von supergrass ist.

9. Current 93: Sleep has his house

Eine Platzierung von C93 in einer Faves-Liste freut mich natürlich immer. Aber warum gerade „Sleep…“ – und warum so weit oben? (geht natürlich vollkommen o.k. – aber es gibt m.E. weitaus bessere C93-Alben)

Natürlich sind auch die Nennungen von u.a. Nico, King Crimson, X, V.d.G.G., Shirley Collins, Big Star, 13th Floor Elevators (auch sehr, sehr ungewöhnlich weit oben…), Low, Gun Club, The Cramps, Scott Walker eine feine Sache. Alles in allem, eine nicht alltägliche Top 100. Erläuterungen dazu würden mich freuen…

A Picture Of Me (Without You) ist doppelt. Ansonsten viele schöne Sachen dabei. Wenn man aber schon so eine recht starke Country-Einfärbung auf den Top-Plätzen der Liste hat, wundert es mich etwas, dass nicht mal etwas tiefer in der Kiste gekramt wird.

Die anderen Supergrass LPs sind fast alle grandios (mit „Supergrass“ allerdings konnte ich bis auf „moving“ und „Pumping…“ nie viel anfangen), Life on other planets ist so eingängig wie „I should coco“ und so abwechlungsreich wie „In it for the money“, „Brecon Beacons“ ist der heimliche Hit der Platte, „Grace“ und „never done nothing…“ sind kurz dahinter!!!

Ich habe nie verstanden, dass „Exit the dragon“ so unterging, ist eines meiner Lieblings Alben der 90er. Sehr eingängig aber trotzdem ein dunkles, hartes Rock ’n‘ Roll Album. „The Break“ ist ein verdammter HIT!
