Im letzten Duke Special-Newsletter vom 11.03.2008, war unter anderem folgendes zu lesen:

„I have been pretty busy though, mainly beginning to write and demo songs for the next album. I am continuing to explore music and songs of the early 1900s while at the same time collaborating with as many different kinds of writers I can to see where that spins me off to.“

Tah-da: „Great news! We can confirm that the new Duke Special album „I never thought this day would come“ is complete and is due for release in the whole of Ireland, both North & South, on October 17, on luxury CD, CD, digital and (from Duke Shop only) double 10″ vinyl. The rest of the world will be able to order all formats from the Duke shop from October 17 also, and we expect a commercial release in the UK and beyond in 2009. The album will be preceded by a single „Sweet sweet kisses“ released on 2 track CD and digitally on October 10. Eine sehr gute Frage, nail. Sollte das der Fall sein, dann würd ich die Luxury CD wählen. Vermutlich ist es aber einfach nur eine Cd mit Bonustracks, obwohl, im Shop der offiziellen homepage gibt es „5 Nights at the Empire Belfast Box Set“ eine Holzbox die eine Cd, eine Dvd, ein Lyric Book und Anstecknadeln beinhaltet. Wer weiß, möglicherweise ist es ja sowas in der Art.

Hab sie nicht. Solche Boxen sind schön anzusehen aber wirklich dauerhaft nutzen würde ich davon nur die Cd und der Rest liegt sehr schnell blöd im Weg herum.

Seit neustem gibt es ein Duke Special Songbook. Um ein letztes Mal den Newsletter zu zitieren (denn langsam liest sich dieser Thread wie ein einziger Newsletter) „after tiring the patience of the most loyal Duke Special fans, the Songbook is ready. @Declan: Bisher gibt es noch kein Vinyl aber hey dafür hat die Special Cd Edition ein kleines Mal-Set dabei, womit man sich sein Album Cover selbst gestalten kann. Na?
