The Smiths – There Is A Light That Never Goes Out (Morrissey)
Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
And they're young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one
AnymoreTake me out tonight
Because I want to see people and I
Want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh, please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's their
Home, and I'm welcome no moreAnd if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure – the privilege is mineTake me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought Oh God, my chance has come at last
(But then a strange fear gripped me and I
Just couldn't ask)Take me out tonight
Oh, take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one, da …
Oh, I haven't got oneAnd if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side

There Is A Light And It Never Goes OutMorrissey – Seasick, Yet Still Docked
I am a poor freezingly cold soul
So far from where
I intended to go
Scavenging through life's very constant lulls
So far from where I'm determined to goWish I knew the way to reach the one I love
There is no way …
Wish I had the charm to attract the one I love
But you see, I've got no charm
Mmm…Tonight I've consumed much more than I can hold
Oh, this is very clear to you
And you can tell I have never really loved
You can tell, by the way, I sleep all dayAnd all of my life no-one gave me anything
No-one has ever given me anything
My love is as sharp as a needle in your eye
You must be such a fool
To pass me by--

WerbungEveryone is trying to get to the bar.
The name of the bar, the bar is called Heaven.
The band in Heaven plays my favorite song.
They play it once again, they play it all night long.Heaven is a place where nothing ever happens.
Heaven is a place where nothing ever happens. There is a party, everyone is there.
Everyone will leave at exactly the same time.
Its hard to imagine that nothing at all
could be so exciting, and so much fun.Heaven is a place where nothing ever happens.
Heaven is a place where nothing ever happens. When this kiss is over it will start again.
It will not be any different, it will be exactly
the same.

Let's rock and roll/put some real hip hop in your soul/over this track there's no stoppin the flow/let's blast off in a ridiculous way/face off, like Nicolas CageHurricane
by Bob Dylan and Jacques Levy 1975Pistol shots ring out in the barroom night
Enter Patty Valentine from the upper hall.
She sees the bartender in a pool of blood,
Cries out, „My God, they killed them all!“
Here comes the story of the Hurricane,
The man the authorities came to blame
For somethin' that he never done.
Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been
The champion of the world.Three bodies lyin' there does Patty see
And another man named Bello, movin' around mysteriously.
„I didn't do it,“ he says, and he throws up his hands
„I was only robbin' the register, I hope you understand.
I saw them leavin',“ he says, and he stops
„One of us had better call up the cops.“
And so Patty calls the cops
And they arrive on the scene
with their red lights flashin' In the hot New Jersey night.Meanwhile, far away in another part of town
Rubin Carter and a couple of friends are drivin' around.
Number one contender for the middleweight crown
Had no idea what kinda shit was about to go down
When a cop pulled him over to the side of the road
Just like the time before and the time before that.
In Paterson that's just the way things go.
If you're black you might as well not show up on the street
'Less you wanna draw the heat.Alfred Bello had a partner and he had a rap for the cops.
Him and Arthur Dexter Bradley were just out prowlin' around
He said, „I saw two men runnin' out, they looked like middleweights
They jumped into a white car with out-of-state plates.“
And Miss Patty Valentine just nodded her head.
Cop said, „Wait a minute, boys, this one's not dead“
So they took him to the infirmary
And though this man could hardly see
They told him that he could identify the guilty menFour in the mornin' and they haul Rubin in,
Take him to the hospital and they bring him upstairs.
The wounded man looks up through his one dyin' eye
Says, „Wha'd you bring him in here for? He ain't the guy!“
Yes, here's the story of the Hurricane,
The man the authorities came to blame
For somethin' that he never done.
Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been
The champion of the world.Four months later, the ghettos are in flame,
Rubin's in South America, fightin' for his name
While Arthur Dexter Bradley's still in the robbery game
And the cops are puttin' the screws to him, lookin' for somebody to blame.
„Remember that murder that happened in a bar?“
„Remember you said you saw the getaway car?“
„You think you'd like to play ball with the law?“
„Think it might-a been that fighter that you saw
runnin' that night?“ „Don't forget that you are white.“Arthur Dexter Bradley said, „I'm really not sure.“
Cops said, „A poor boy like you could use a break
We got you for the motel job and we're talkin' to your friend Bello
Now you don't wanta have to go back to jail,
be a nice fellow.
You'll be doin' society a favor.
That sonofabitch is brave and gettin' braver.
We want to put his ass in stir
We want to pin this triple murder on him
He ain't no Gentleman Jim.“Rubin could take a man out with just one punch
But he never did like to talk about it all that much.
It's my work, he'd say, and I do it for pay
And when it's over I'd just as soon go on my way
Up to some paradise
Where the trout streams flow and the air is nice
And ride a horse along a trail.
But then they took him to the jail house
Where they try to turn a man into a mouse. All of Rubin's cards were marked in advance
The trial was a pig-circus, he never had a chance.
The judge made Rubin's witnesses drunkards from the slums
To the white folks who watched he was a revolutionary bum
And to the black folks he was just a crazy nigger.
No one doubted that he pulled the trigger
. And though they could not produce the gun,
The D.A. said he was the one
who did the deed And the all-white jury agreed.Rubin Carter was falsely tried.
The crime was murder „one,“ guess who testified?
Bello and Bradley and they both baldly lied
And the newspapers, they all went along for the ride.
How can the life of such a man
Be in the palm of some fool's hand?
To see him obviously framed
Couldn't help but make me feel ashamed
to live in a land
Where justice is a game. Now all the criminals in their coats and their ties
Are free to drink martinis
and watch the sun rise
While Rubin sits like Buddha in a ten-foot cell
An innocent man in a living hell.
That's the story of the Hurricane,
But it won't be over till they clear his name
And give him back the time he's done.
Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been
The champion of the world.Dylan kannte ich schon vorher, halt die bekannteren Sachen („Blowin' in the Wind“, „Knockin' on heaven's door“) aber seit diesem Song liebe ich ihn heiß und innig.

If I'd lived my life by what others were thinkin', the heart inside me would've died. After The Gold Rush
Neil YoungWell, I dreamed I saw the knights in armor coming
Sayin' something about a queen
There were peasants singin' and drummers drumming
And the archer split the tree
There was a fanfare blowin' to the sun
That floated on the breeze
Look at Mother Nature on the run in the nineteen seventies
Look at Mother Nature on the run in the nineteen seventiesI was lyin' in a burned out basement
With a full moon in my eyes
I was hopin' for a replacement
When the sun burst through the skies
There was a band playin' in my head
And I felt like getting high
Thinkin' about what a friend had said, I was hopin' it was a lie
Thinkin' about what a friend had said, I was hopin' it was a lieWell, I dreamed a saw the silver spaceships flying
In the yellow have of the sun
The were children crying and colors flying
All around the chosen ones
All in a dream, all in a dream
The loading had begun
Flyin' mother nature's silver seed to a new home in the sun
Flyin' mother nature's silver seed to a new homeDas erste Stück was ich jemals von Neil Young hörte.

If I'd lived my life by what others were thinkin', the heart inside me would've died. Thrasher
Neil YoungThey were hiding behind hay bales, they were planting in the full moon
They had given all they had for something new
But the light of day was on them, they could see the thrashers coming
And the water shone like diamonds in the dewAnd I was just getting up, hit the road before it's light
Trying to catch an hour on the sun
When I saw those thrashers rolling by, looking more than two lanes wide
I was feelin' like my day had just begun.Where the eagle glides ascending there's an ancient river bending
Down the timeless gorge of changes where sleeplessness awaits
I searched out my companions, they were lost in crystal canyons
When the aimless blade of science slashed the pearly gates
It was then I knew I'd had enough, burned my credit card for fuel
Headed out to where the pavement turns to sand
With a one-way ticket to the land of truth and my suitcase in my hand
How I lost my friends I still don't understandThey had the best selection, they were poisoned with protection
There was nothing that they needed, they had nothing left to find
They were lost in rock formations or became park bench mutations
On the sidewalks and in the stations they were waiting, waiting
So I got bored and left them there, they were just deadweight to me
It's better on the road without that load
Brought back the time when I was eight or nine
I was watchin' my mama's T.V., it was that great Grand Canyon rescue episode
Where the vulture glides descending on an asphalt highway bending
Thru libraries and museums, galaxies and stars
Down the windy halls of friendship to the rose clipped by the bullwhip
The motel of lost companions waits with heated pool and air-conditioned barBut me I'm not stopping there, got my own row left to hoe
Just another line in the field of time
When the thrashers come and I'm stuck in the sun like dinosaurs in shrines
Then I'll know the time has come to give what's mineUnfassbar schön. Dieser Mann kann mit Worten Bilder malen!

Mensch Moontear, da hast du gleich zwei meiner all-time-neil-favs reingestellt, wirklich tolle songs/songwriting
Die Bezüge zu CSN sind unübersehbar (bzw. hörbar):„They had the best selection, they were poisoned with protection
There was nothing that they needed, they had nothing left to find
They were lost in rock formations or became park bench mutations
On the sidewalks and in the stations they were waiting, waiting
So I got bored and left them there, they were just deadweight to me“Aber Sex Pistols? Da doch eher in „My My, Hey Hey…“

If I'd lived my life by what others were thinkin', the heart inside me would've died.

If I'd lived my life by what others were thinkin', the heart inside me would've died. tja ………..ich warte auch noch auf die islands in the sun und vor allen auf homegrown, welches ja anstatt Tonights The NIght erscheinen sollte und eine Art dunkles Harvest sei.
