Mal schauen.Keep on poppin' in the free world!
The king of pop is gone to jail but not forgotten.

WerbungTake me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people who are young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one, anymore.Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people and I want to see light
Driving in your car
Oh please don't drop me home
Because It's not my home, It's their home
And I'm welcome no more. And if a double-decker bus crashes into us
To die by your side, such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well the pleasure and the privilege is mine.Take me out tonight
Oh take me anywhere I don't care I don't care I don't care
And in the darkened underpass I thought oh God, my chance has come at last
But then a strange fear gripped me and I just couldn't ask.
Take me out tonight
Take anywhere I don't care I don't care I don't care
Just driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one, Oh Lord
No I haven't got one.There is a light that never goes out…

Howgh!Oh I'd rather go and journey where the diamond crest is flowing and
Run across the valley beneath the sacred mountain and
Wander through the forest
Where the the trees have leaves of prisms and break the light in colors
That no one knows the names ofAnd when it's time I'll go and wait beside a legendary fountain
Till I see your form reflected in it's clear and jewelled waters
And if you think I'm ready
You may lead me to the chasm where the rivers of our vision
Flow into one anotherI will want to die beneath the white cascading waters
She may beg, she may plead, she may argue with her logic
And then she'll know the things I learned
That really have no value in the end she will surely know
I wasn't born to follow.

Here I am back home again
I'm here to rest
All they ask is where I've been
Knowing I've been West.
I'm the family's unknown boy
Golden curls and envied hair
Pretty girls with faces fair
See the shining Black Sheep Boy.If you love me, let me live in peace.
Please understand,
That the black sheep can wear the golden fleece,
And hold a winning hand.I'm the family's unknown boy
Golden curls and envied hair
Pretty girls with faces fair
See the shining Black Sheep Boy.Scott Walker interpretiert es hinreißend.

A CASE OF YOU (Joni Mitchell)
Just before our love got lost you said,
„I am as constant as a northern star.“
And I said, „Constantly in the darkness
Where's that at?
If you want me I'll be in the bar.“
On the back of a cartoon coaster
In the blue TV screen light
I drew a map of Canada
Oh Canada
With your face sketched on it twice
Oh, you're in my blood like holy wine
You taste so bitter and so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you, darling
And I would still be on my feet
Oh I would still be on my feetOh I am a lonely painter
I live in a box of paints
I'm frightened by the devil
And I'm drawn to those ones that ain't afraid
I remember that time you told me, you said,
„Love is touching souls“
Surely you touched mine
'Cause part of you pours out of me
In these lines from time to time
Oh, you're in my blood like holy wine
You taste so bitter and so sweet
Oh I could drink a case of you, darling
Still, I'd be on my feet
I would still be on my feetI met a woman
She had a mouth like yours
She knew your life
She knew your devils and your deeds
And she said,
„Go to him, stay with him if you can
But be prepared to bleed“
Oh but you are in my blood
You're my holy wine
You're so bitter, bitter and so sweet
Oh, I could drink a case of you, darling
Still I'd be on my feet
I would still be on my feet--

Es gibt eine schöne Piano-Version des Liedes von Tori Amos (ich weiß, Geschmacksache), die gefällt mir fast besser als das Original.

Aber am Text ändert das ja nichts.

Barstow
:::::::by Jay Farrar
Anyone caught speaking Esperanto
Is thought crazy or headed for jail
There's peace in the wilds of west Texas
Where the sun and the sky prevailTake no notice of the rising waters
Take no notice where the rivers run dry
They'll be diggin through the landfills
To find evidence of our great demiseCHORUS
There's a changing pattern before us
And the past tells the story quite well
By the time we make it to Barstow
We'll be more than halfway to hellWaves of adverts that promise revival
Trick it where it batters the brain
The devil bought the key to Branson
Drives a backhoe and wears a gold chainNow we're living in the unnamed time frame
That's in Reno we're on the human race
Woke up in another test market
With a new headache filter in placeCHORUS
By the time we make it to Barstow
We'll be more than halfway to hell--
