Schön, dass damit jetzt hier auch angefangen wird. Ein halbes Jahr vor Ablauf des Jahrzehnts ist ja auch angemessen. Ich fang demnächst mal mit der Inventur ab, bevor ich mich an das Erstellen von Listen mache. Hier gibt’s ja noch einige schöne Anregungen.

Die besten Alben der Noughties? Eine Frage die mich in letzter Zeit des öfteren beschäftigt. Mit dieser Frage einhergehend (?): Was zeichnet die Noughties eigentlich aus? Sind es Revivals (hoffentlich nicht) oder gibt es da doch noch eine Entwicklung im Pop? Alben wie Dear Science von TV on the Radio sind ja gerade deshalb so gigantisch weil sie nicht versuchen das Wissen um die Musik der Vergangenheit zu verschleiern, sondern es aufsaugen und in unsere Zeit reflektieren.
Ich kann auch nicht feststellen, dass das monumentale Kid A Einfluss auf den Sound der Noughties genommen hat. Ist das Album etwa 20 Jahre zu früh erschienen?
Obwohl in den Charts die Black Music dominiert, ist da doch kaum etwas neues zu entdecken.
Immerhin bietet uns Joanna Newsom etwas andersartiges namens Ys an und liegt bei mir damit unter den bedeutensten Alben der Noughties ganz weit vorne.
