Ui, das ist bald 25 Jahre her, daß ich den auf Video gesehen habe. Damals hat er mir ganz gut gefallen und fand auch das Casting beeindruckend. Weiß aber nicht, wie gut der für mich gealtert ist.

SICARIO 2: SOLDADO (Stefano Sollima)SICARIO ist für mich einer der besten Filme des Jahrzehnts, schön zu sehen, dass der Trailer zum Sequel dem wenig nachzustehen scheint… das sieht großartig aus!
ANNIHILATION (Alex Garland)Löst aktuell ja einige Debatten in Sachen Vorlagentreue aus – ich kenne den Roman nicht, vertraue nach EX MACHINA aber Alex Garland erstmal „blind“. Ach was, Besetzung und der generelle Vibe haben mich eh schon im Sack.
THE POST (Steven Spielberg)Fantastisches Ensemble und ein Thema, das zeitgemäßer nicht sein könnte: Dürfte in der kommenden Awards Season Erdrutschsiege einfahren. Und Spielberg ist im Herbst seiner Karriere immer am Besten, wenn es NICHT um Spektakel geht.

Margo Robbies MONSTER, sozusagen… *hüstel* Darf man einiges von erwarten, Bobby Cannavale und die nicht genug zu preisende Allison Janney gibt’s als Bonus oben drauf.
PHANTOM THREAD (Paul Thomas Anderson)Spricht mich persönlich thematisch weniger an als frühere Andersons, für die möglicherweise letzte Daniel Day-Lewis-Performance sollte man vermutlich trotzdem anwesend sein.
7 DAYS IN ENTEBBE (José Padilha)Polit-Thriller von TROPA DE ELITE-Regisseur Padilha, mit Daniel Brühl, Eddie Marsan und Rosamund Pike (die mich nach Jahren der „Gesichtslosigkeit“ in GONE GIRL nachdrücklich beeindruckt hat).
ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD (Ridley Scott)Drama zur Getty-Entführung, in den Schlagzeilen dank der nachträglichen Entfernung von Kevin Spacey aus dem fertigen (!) Film. Als Ersatz dient Christopher Plummer.
JOURNEYMAN (Paddy Considine)Über einen Boxer und die Langzeitfolgen seiner Profession. Inszeniert und geschrieben von Considine – eine Konstellation, die uns schon den gelungenen TYRANNOSAUR brachte.
THE 15:17 TO PARIS (Clint Eastwood)Macht vor allem erstmal damit von sich reden, dass Eastwood einige der tatsächlich Beteiligten als Darsteller verpflichten konnte. In meinen Augen wird der Mann im Alter nicht interessanter… oder subtiler.
ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL (Robert Rodriguez)Ganz schön starker Tobak… und das ist nicht positiv gemeint. Vielleicht eine Vorlage, der es nicht bestimmt ist, im Guten das Medium zu wechseln, die erwartbaren Rodriguez-Mätzchen noch nichtmal eingerechnet.
