Habe mir letztens schon mal darüber Gedanken gemacht, welche Prog-, Hardrock und Metalalben Deine Liste ausfüllen werden. War ja nicht gerade ein Prog- und Metal-Jahrzehnt, leicht aufstrebend ja, aber doch noch sehr verhalten.

Ja, die 80er waren wahrlich ein schweres Jahrzehnt für erfolgsverwöhnte Hard und Prog Rock Künstler. New Wave, Pop, NDW und elektronische Musik haben ihnen das Leben schwergemacht. Aber es gab doch einige Bands,die in diesen Genres starke Alben gemacht haben, z.B. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motörhead, Whitesnake, Rush. Saga, Ozzy Osbourne, Marillion, Scorpions. BÖC. IQ, Pallas, Twelfth Night, Slade, Queensryche, Dio, Rainbow, Saxon und so weiter.

wolfgangDas war eine Fleißarbeit, meinen Respekt. Meine Liste kommt höchstens auf die Hälfte an Nennungen. Auf den ersten Blick sind nicht viele von dir in meiner Liste, vielleicht 30 Titel.
Insgesamt hatte ich 930 Alben in der Bewertung. Die 80er waren ein sehr extremes Musikjahrzehnt für mich, so wie vieles andere in diesem Jahrzehnt für mich extrem gewesen ist, im guten wie im schlechten. Bin mal auf Deine Liste gespannt, Wolfgang. Habe mir letztens schon mal darüber Gedanken gemacht, welche Prog-, Hardrock und Metalalben Deine Liste ausfüllen werden. War ja nicht gerade ein Prog- und Metal-Jahrzehnt, leicht aufstrebend ja, aber doch noch sehr verhalten.

Die 70er sind da mit Meisterwerken doch schon wesentlicher zahlreicher vertreten. In den 90ern wird die Zahl vermutlich eher abnehmen. In den 80ern habe ich aber 64 Alben im ****1/2 bis ****1/2- Bereich.

Das ist schon mal eine sehr gute Schnittmenge. Schön, dass BAP und Tom Petty so oft auftauchen. Und die Wertschätzung von „Nebraska“ freut mich auch sehr.
Aber gar nix von den Dire Straits? „Love Over Gold“ hätte ich schon erwartet.
Auch Van Morrison ist gut vertreten, wobei mir „Common One“ nicht so viel bedeutet, wie du sicher weist.
Was ist mit den Adventures, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, dem Debut von Sting und ABC (oder habe ich die übersehen)?

Gewinnen ist nicht alles, gewinnen ist das einzige.zu „Dire Straits“: „Making movies“, „Love over gold“ und auch „Brothers in arms“ sind in der Sammlung. Gehören aber zu den 684 weiteren Alben aus den Eighties, die den Sprung auf **** nicht geschafft haben und deshalb hier nicht auftauchen. In der 70-.er Liste sind die Dire Straits dagegen mit ihren ersten beiden Alben vertreten.
Auch „Frankie Goes To Hollywood“ und das Debütalbum von Sting sind in der Sammlung, haben den Sprung in diese Liste allerdings nicht geschafft. Liegen alle bei ***1/2.
Nicht in der Sammlung sind hingegen die Adventures und ABC.
Dein Problem mit „Common one“ ist so bekannt wie bedauerlich.
