Also ein Anti-Psychoanalyse-Film der mit Jahrmarkt zu tun hat, gehört mehr oder weniger zu den noir-Filmen, wenn auch für den Regisseur ein untypisches Werk, aber wohl sein bestes. Ohne den Star wäre der Film nicht gedreht worden udn es gab ständig Ärger mit dem Hayes Office.
