Sonic JuiceJa, vermutlich.

Saddle CreekWith the once revolving line-up of musicians finally settled on the three constants of Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott, Bright Eyes spent much of 2006 in the studio working on their follow-up to the acclaimed simultaneous releases I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn. The first single, „Four Winds“, is presented with 5 exclusive B-sides from the 2006 recording sessions.
Retaining the simmering glow of its predecessors, Four Winds, (out March 6, 2007), is full of the magic that brought Bright Eyes to international attention. Carefully played, deftly poetic and quietly enchanting, this EP has a wandering country charm and all of the story-telling seductiveness of earlier work. Four Winds does far more than just whet the appetite for the new full length slated for April 10th, 2007; it stands alone as an excellent addition to the Bright Eyes catalog.
TheStoryInTheSoilBright Eyes will release the „Four Winds“ EP March 6th, 2007, followed by the new full-length album „Cassadaga“ due out on April 10th. The new record features the usuals- Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott- as well as guest appearances by artists like Sleater-Kinney’s Janet Weiss.

Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to exit the donut!„tourist trap“ gefällt mir sehr sehr gut! Da nun auch noch M.Ward, David Rawlings & Gillian Welch sich die Ehre geben, hat Cassadaga gute Chancen, das erste Bright Eyes-Album zu sein, das ich mir in Echtzeit erschließen werde.

I like to move it, move it Ya like to (move it)Nachdem die Alben Wide Awake und Digital Ash hier schon ein wenig länger rumliegen bin ich in den letzten Tagen erst so richtig auf den Geschmack gekommen.

[SIZE=1][COLOR=#0000ff]Conor Oberst and [COLOR=#0000ff]M. Ward go way back. Ward opened Bright Eyes‘ 2002 [I][COLOR=#0000ff]Lifted tour. He joined Oberst and Jim James a couple years later for their collaborative triptych trek. And when Bright Eyes serenaded Los Angeles with help from the LA Philharmonic a couple months ago, [COLOR=#0000ff]Ward was there.
So it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone that Oberst and Ward have taken the next logical step with their musical relationship. They’ve allegedly gone and formed a band.
The news comes from an [COLOR=#0000ff]Omaha [I]City Weekly report, which indicates Oberst and Ward’s unnamed band plans to record an album next year. Representatives from neither Oberst’s nor Ward’s camps could confirm the collaboration, however. But given these guys‘ history, it falls a wee bit closer on the likeliness scale than, say, a Bright Eyes/Soulja Boy collabo.
The City Weekly bit also mentions a second Oberst side project set to record in 2008. This one finds our perennially bedheaded emoter working with Jake Bellows of Omaha act [COLOR=#0000ff]Neva Dinova. Bright Eyes and Neva Dinova, as you may recall, previously collaborated on the 2004 EP One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels— so again, not exactly a shocka, even if this too has yet to be confirmed.
The picture may become a little clearer come December 29 and 30, as Conor Oberst takes the stage at Minneapolis‘ 400 Bar with nothing but the name his parents gave him. Well, that and „a different backing band,“ according to a [COLOR=#0000ff]Minneapolis/St. Paul [I]Star Tribune report. „Word from 400 Bar management,“ the report states, „is that Oberst wants it explicitedly known these won’t be Bright Eyes shows– i.e., he won’t be doing any of those songs! He will be playing new material.“ We’ll leave it to you super sleuths to put two and two together here.

Bright Eyes to release final album
Conor Oberst hasn’t retired the Bright Eyes name. Yet.
He will make one more album under that name with Omaha’s Saddle Creek Records. Release is planned for fall 2010.
“He’s going to record stuff over the winter and in the spring,” said Robb Nansel, Saddle Creek president.
The 29-year-old Oberst told Rolling Stone recently that he would come back with another Bright Eyes record, the same thing Saddle Creek executives told The World-Herald in 2008. But with so many other projects taking up his time, no one had known when that might happen.
And since he has released his last two efforts under his own name through Merge Records out of North Carolina, industry observers and music fans wondered if he had severed his ties with Saddle Creek. Now Omaha’s indie rock golden boy, Oberst started his career as Bright Eyes with Saddle Creek as a student at Creighton Prep.
In September, he will join indie rocker M. Ward, Bright Eyes band member Mike Mogis and Jim James of My Morning Jacket to release an album as Monsters of Folk, this time with Shangri-La Music out of California.
The next Saddle Creek album will be the last hurrah for Bright Eyes. In Rolling Stone, Oberst said he’d be retiring the name, and that’s also what he has told Nansel.
“My guess, based on what he’s expressed to me, is that there will be one more Bright Eyes record and that will probably be it,” Nansel said. “I think that’s his line of thinking at this point — closing the chapter on that moniker. I think he feels like Bright Eyes has a certain association, for better or worse. I think he’s trying to distance himself a little bit from what that means to people.”
Nansel said he couldn’t comment on whether Oberst would record again with Saddle Creek. Attempts to reach Oberst through his publicist were not successful.
