Hallo Doc,

Immerhin 5 Alben = ca. 10 % habe ich auch aus deinem 2006er Jahrgang:-). Vieles von deiner Liste kenne ich nicht.
Ist übrigens auch bei den meisten anderen Jahrgangslisten immer so um die 10%. Daraus folgere ich messerscharf, dass unser jeweiliger Musikgeschmack nicht wirklich kompatibel zueinander ist.:lol:

Unbedingt. Ich liebe zwar praktisch ohnehin alles, was ich von Molina kenne, aber dieses Album hat doch einen besonderen Stellenwert – die spärliche Produktion und Instrumentierung gibt viel Raum für seinen Gesang, die Gitarrenmelodien sind erschütternd intensiv und das ganze Geschehen hat den unmittelbaren Charme von Musik, die direkt vor einem gespielt wird, zwei Meter entfernt.

Damals fand ich Molina immer am besten, wenn eine komplette Band mit einbezogen wurde was mich dazu veranlasste, seine reinen Solo Werke zu verkaufen. „Songs;Ohia“ und „Let Me Go“ fanden Käufer. „Pyramid“ zum Glück nicht. Ein intensives Hörerlebnis ist es in der Tat und aus heutiger Sicht gar doppelt erschütternd. Von daher, freue ich mich sehr auf die Platte, die zum Glück hier in HH noch in einigen Plattenläden aufzufinden ist.

Everything should try again…

I wanted badly to revisit the type of songs I did on my more experimental albums The Pyramid, The Ghost, and Protection Spells. I put this project together in the last days before I began what was a long and harrowing move back to Chicago. I wrote these songs as well as the half dozen or so that did not make it over the course of 3 mornings in Bloomington, Indiana and recorded them one after the other in the order they were written. All of this is an attempt to put a serious price on lyrics that are honest not witty, shy but not weak, weary if they are and sad without apology, depression without a fight and depression with a fight.
