Anders ist ja nicht zu erklären, dass es nicht auftaucht, es wäre gewiss Top 10 und vor „Pre-Bird“

Ist „Presents“ nicht bereits 1960 erschienen? Ich habe dazu keine belastbaren Informationen gefunden, auf dem Backcover steht nur, dass die Aufnahmen am 20. Oktober des Jahres waren. Die Katalognummer ist CJ-8005 – „The World Of Cecil Taylor“ war die folgende LP auf Candid und sie erschien ja auch bereits ’60, wenn ich mich nicht täusche.

Ansonsten wäre sie natürlich unmittelbar nach „Africa/Brass“ auf Platz 2. Mein liebstes Mingus-Album und ich bin mir eigentlich ziemlich sicher, dass es mittlerweile eine einleuchtende mathematische Beweisführung gibt, das allgemeingültig als Fakt festzuhalten („Boo! Nazi Fascist supremists!“ geteilt durch Eric Dolphy mal Dannie Richmond plus Ted Curson zum Beispiel).

Hm, wenn ich mich nicht irre, stammt „Presents“ von der November-Session, dann wäre 1960 knapp, aber möglich. Ich habe in den 1960er-Thread geschaut, da taucht es bisher nicht auf. Ich weiss es ehrlich gesagt auch nicht so genau (der Taylor-Hinweis hilft mir auch nicht weiter – aber dass die Alben schön der Reihe nach erschienen sind, ist ja auch nicht zwingend).

Für die Berechnung müsste man noch „Stormy Weather“ (erschienen auf „Mingus“, wohl auch 1961, danach war Candid ja nicht mehr im Geschäft) miteinbeziehen … was für ein grossartiges Stück! Ich finde es extrem schade, dass es auf dem Album keinen Platz mehr fand.

Die Aufnahme scheint unklar, aber as VÖ wird 1960 angegeben!
