Auswertung der Umfrage – Die 20 besten Tracks von Tom Waits

Von 33 Teilnehmern wurden insgesamt 10.230 Punkte vergeben, die sich auf – jetzt festhalten! – 194 unterschiedliche Tracks verteilen.
Auch ein Beleg dafür, wie viele großartige Aufnahmen Tom Waits wohl gemacht hat, wenn es den Teilnehmern so schwer fällt, sich auf einen gemeinsamen Kanon zu einigen.

Auswertungsregeln:
Für Platz 1 gibt es 25 Punkte, für Platz 20 dann noch 6 Punkte.
Bei Punktgleichheit zählt die höhere Anzahl der Nennungen des jeweiligen Songs; sollte dann immer noch kein Sieger gefunden sein, gewinnt der Song, der die höhere Einzelplatzierung erzielt hat.

Die 20 besten Tracks von Tom Waits – Wer ist der „Konsensheini“ und wer ist der „Dissenshorst“?

Auswertung nach der „Multiplikationsmethode“:
Die erreichten Punkte der Songs werden multipliziert mit der umgekehrten Reihenfolge der Platzierung in der Liste des jeweiligen Teilnehmers, sprich: die erreichten Punkte des Songs auf Platz 1 werden mit dem Faktor 20 gewichtet, die des Songs auf Platz 2 mit dem Faktor 19, bis runter zu den erreichten Punkten des Songs auf Platz 20 der jeweiligen Teilnehmerliste, die noch mit dem Faktor 1 gewichtet werden.
Die durch diese Multiplikation ermittelten Punkte der Tracks werden dann zusammengezählt.

Es geht los mit der Auswertung.

Anfangen möchte ich mit den Plätzen außerhalb der Top 50.
Von den dort platzierten Tracks hätte ich zumindest für „Down, Down, Down“, „$29.00“, „Grapefruit Moon“, „San Diego Serenade“, „Burma Shave“, „I Never Talk to Strangers“, „Shiver Me Timbers“ und „Falling Down“ mit mehr Zuspruch gerechnet.

War bei mir, wie auch „Anywhere I Lay My Head“ in der Vorauswahl.

Dass „Shiver Me Timbers“ so abschmiert ist eine Schande für alle Beteiligten (mich ausgenommen, bei mir immerhin am unteren Ende der Top 20).

Habe jetzt vorne auch das „Niemandsland“ der Konsenstabelle eingestellt.

Wie wir im Verlauf der Auswertung noch sehen werden, gibt es bei der Tom Waits-Umfrage sehr große „Verwerfungen“ zwischen der hier angewandten „Multiplikationsmethode“ und der u.a. von @sommer bei der Alben-Jahresauswertung angewandten „Abweichungsmethode“.
Werde darauf noch näher eingehen.

Daß „Rain Dogs“ – auch aufgrund der hohen Anzahl der Tracks – ganz vorne sein würde, ist vielleicht keine Überraschung.
Die hohe Wertschätzung von „Franks Wild Years“ hätte ich so aber nich erwartet.
Überraschend stark für mich „Bone Machine“ und „Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards“.
Bei „Small Change“, „Blue Valentine“ und „Foreign Affairs“ hätte ich etwas mehr erwartet.

In der Durchschnittsbewertung – wenn wir mal „Big Time“ mit seinen zwei Nennungen außen vor lassen – aber „Closing Time“ vor „Small Change“ und „Heartattack and Vine“.
