Jay.Bella Union legt im Juni die Van Dyke Parks Alben „Song Cycle“, „Discover America“ und „Clang of the Yankee Reaper“ neu auf. Mit Details bezüglich der Re-Issues hält man sich beim Label aber noch zurück. Klick!

Mich interessiert, weshalb in der BU Beschreibung steht „the most highly priced […] albums“. Meines Wissens gibt es bereits Reissues von Warner, Edsel und auch Sundazed, obendrein zu vernünftigen Preisen. Reiner Marketing-Stunt seitens Bella Union also? Mit der Info über die kommenden Reissues schließt sich dann auch meine Hauptfrage an: Welche der Neuauflagen sind zu empfehlen und welche Quellen wurden bei den Warner/Edsel Reissues verwendet?

Möchte das Thema gerne nochmal aufgreifen.

Hatte schon jemand Gelegenheit, die neuen Bella Union-Reissues zu hören?
Und kann Vergleiche ziehen zu den anderen erwähnten Reissues?

This landmark Nazareth album shows the tougher side of these Scottish hard rockers. After recording eight songs the band decided to christen the album the way it sounds: this record is loud and the band is friggin‘ proud of it! Heavy on drums and distorted guitars, the band pushes its way through the 48 minutes like a steam train running wild, with the exception of a breezy excursion like „Child In The Sun“ and a doomy but incredibly intense version of Bob Dylan’s „The Ballad Of Hollis Brown“.

TOTO – IV [MOVLP554]

Toto are responsible for the best sounding albums in 80s rock. With top of the range studio facilities and musicians at hand, founders David Paich, Bobby Kimball, Steve Lukather and the Porcaro brothers know how to craft a hit song or two. Their fourth album was aptly titled IV and contains world hits „Rosanna“ and „Africa“. After recording IV, Toto’s members returned to the studio in order to help write and record another classic: Michael Jackson’s Thriller (MOVLP014).

Das „The Future“ wiederveröffentlicht wird, erfreut bestimmt einige. Die Erstpressung war ja leider in den letzten Jahren sehr hochpreisig.
