DAVID BOWIE – EXCERPTS FROM OUTSIDE (1LP) – MOVLP500
In this highly anticipated reunion with Brian Eno (Bowie recorded his ‚Berlin Trilogy‘ with Eno). They recorded the album during improvised sessions, in which Eno would hand out flashcards as a guiding light. The original 1995 release had a very limited vinyl run, and because of that, this has always been a very much sought after album. ‚Excerpts From Outside‘ also contains a beautiful 8-page booklet filled with notes from Nathan Adler’s diary…
We are very proud that this is our 500th release.

T.C. MATIC – T.C. MATIC (1LP) – MOVLP525
T.C. Matic were a Belgian Rock band formed in the early ’80s by Arno Hintjes and Jean Marie Aerts (who would go on to produce albums by Urban Dance Squad and Absynthe Minded). They played a mix of New Wave, Blues, Funk, Hard Rock, Avant Garde and even some French Chansons. Their eclectic mix and experimental approach to music would have a great impact on Belgian bands such as dEUS and Zita Swoon. Their eponymous album ‚T.C. Matic‘ from 1981 has their biggest hit „O La La La“ on it, a song that can still rock dance floors today.

The Byrds were one of the earliest groups who could combine the best of two worlds. Along the way they pioneered Psychedelic and Country Rock, always keeping things recognizable with their vocal harmonies accompanied by their jangly guitars.Their 1965 debut ‚Mr. Tambourine Man‘ hit the flower generation like a bombshell. ‚One of the greatest debuts in the history of rock‘, it melds their lyrical prowess with their compelling guitar riffs, and was the blueprint for their future sound. A true classic!

MANIC STREET PREACHERS – EVERYTHING MUST GO (1LP) – MOVLP194
During the years the albums of Manic Street Preachers retained a leftist politicization and intellectual lyrical style, while adopting a broader alternative rock sound, especially after the mysterious disappearance of lyricist and rhythm guitarist Richey Edwards in 1995. ‚Everything Must Go‘ is the Manics fourth album and was released in 1996. Although being the first album after Edwards‘ disappearance, it still contains five songs with his lyrics. The album became a commercial and critical success and is still a fine example of Britpop. This release contains an insert.

Jay.Bella Union legt im Juni die Van Dyke Parks Alben „Song Cycle“, „Discover America“ und „Clang of the Yankee Reaper“ neu auf. Mit Details bezüglich der Re-Issues hält man sich beim Label aber noch zurück. Klick!

Mich interessiert, weshalb in der BU Beschreibung steht „the most highly priced […] albums“. Meines Wissens gibt es bereits Reissues von Warner, Edsel und auch Sundazed, obendrein zu vernünftigen Preisen. Reiner Marketing-Stunt seitens Bella Union also? Mit der Info über die kommenden Reissues schließt sich dann auch meine Hauptfrage an: Welche der Neuauflagen sind zu empfehlen und welche Quellen wurden bei den Warner/Edsel Reissues verwendet?

eigentlich wollte er sie doch selbst auf seinem BANANASTAN Label herausbringen! Vielleicht nur Vertriebsdeal?

Die ersten 4 Alben gab es zunächst in limitierter Box, werden jetzt einzeln verkauft. Exzellenter Klang & makellose Verpackung mit Liebe fürs Detail, alles von Onkel Neil angeblich persönlich abgenommen und dem analogen Reinheitsgebot verpflichtet. Offenbar gab es mit einzelnen Exemplaren aus der Box Probleme mit den Pressungen, ich selbst hatte keinen Grund zur Beanstandung. Weiß nicht, ob das bei den Einzelexemplaren auch noch ein Thema ist.

Uncle Tupelo’s erste drei Alben kommen wieder auf Vinyl.

Habe unterschiedliche Quellenangaben, was die VÖ anbelangt. Der Uncle Tupelo Merchandise sagt 21.4., amazon com sagt 22.05.12.

Aber, wie ich gehört habe, zum RSD US. Hier sollen sie regulär später in den Handel kommen. Man kann sie aber zB über Popmarket bereits ordern.
