Yep, genau der … es gibt zwei tolle CDs mit seinen Vee Jay-Aufnahmen. Für mich sicher einer der interessantesten „echten“ (as opposed to … croner, Popsänger wie Sinatra etc.) Jazzsänger, eigentlich egal welcher Zeit.

PS: In der Nummer jetzt aber schon!Das ist ja auch immer so eine Sache … andererseits hör mal Nat King Cole an, und dann die grad erwähnten weissen Popsänger jener Zeit – wie passt das denn zusammen? Oder die Crooner-Alben von Little Jimmy Scott oder Joe Williams? Alles nicht so eindeutig (und das wohl nicht nur im Hinblick auf Hautfarben).
