samDie Africa/ Brass in der 2CD Ausgabe steht auch schon lange auf meiner Liste.
Mein Exemplar ist ziemlich lädiert, aber es ist weiterhin diese Ausgabe, auf der man die kompletten Aufnahmen kriegt. Alternativ noch hier drin:
https://www.discogs.com/de/Various-First-Impulse-The-Creed-Taylor-Collection-50th-Anniversary/release/5477025Das ist ein sehr schmuckes Ding mit vielen Photos, in dem die ersten paar Impulse-Alben zu finden sind – jene halt, die Creed Taylor, der das Label startete und dann bald verliess, produziert hat. Die ganze Geschichte dazu ist auch drin, klar … und als Bonus gibt es drei kurze Probefragmente zu „Africa/Brass“, die man sonst nirgendwo kriegt, soweit ich weiss (jedenfalls erschienen sie erstmals in der Box), die man aber auch nicht unbedingt haben muss.
Von den Alben sind natürlich Gil Evans (Out of the Cool), Ray Charles (Genius+Jazz=Soul) und Oliver Nelson (Blues and the Abstract Truth) ebenfalls Meisterwerke, J.J. Johnson/Kai Winding und Kai Winding allein eher nicht, aber hübsch sind auch die beiden Alben.

Ein reines Begleitinstrument, auf dem soweit ich es in Konzerten mit indischer Musik erlebte pausenlos die immergleichen Töne in der immergleichen Reihenfolge gezupft werden (auch durchaus arhythmisch, denn diejenigen, die es hinten am Bühnenrand sitzend spielen, sind manchmal wohl nicht mal Musiker sondern das ist eine Art Ehrendienst für den Meister) – habe auch schon erlebt, dass das aus einem Lautsprecher kam, der via iPad zugeschaltet wurde, macht eigentlich auch keinen Unterschied …--

Ha ha, ja, das ist wohl die Frage … mir geht es halt so, dass ich mich lieber geistig angeregt aus dem Trott entferne als mich zuzudröhnen – dass die meisten das zu anstrengend finden, ist mir bekannt – aber verstehen muss ich es nicht.
