Habe ich erst in einer ganz anderen Coverversion (von Love & Rockets) kennengelernt. Und nachdem ich dann das Original kennenlernte, habe ich mir die Coverversion gar nicht mehr angehört.

Joliet, da muss ich Dir dann wohl recht geben.
Es gibt ein tolles Album von Dan Penn (mit Spooner Oldham): Moments From This Theatre. Da erzählt er, daß man ihn oft fragt, welche Version von Dark End (das er geschrieben hat) die beste sei. „Was für eine Frage…“ sagt er, als ob irgend etwas über James Carr’s Version stünde.
