… und wieder ein toller Bass! Live war Blake kaum zu stoppen (und obwohl er längst nicht so gross wie Weston ist, schien der Bass in seinen Händen eher ein Cello, so flink ging er damit um).

In den Fünfzigern kam er zurück, nahm bis in die Sechziger hinein eine Reihe wunderbarer Alben auf, tauchte wieder ab … in den Achtzigern mal kurz mit Tom Waits (auf Tour – es gab auch mal was in der Tube, vielleicht ist das ja noch dort – und auch auf irgendeiner Session mal), in den Neunzigern dann nochmal ein halbes Comeback mit einigen wundervollen Alben (auf „Mississippi Lad“ taucht Waits dann auf zwei Songs als – nunja – Jazzsänger auf) … ein grossartiger Musiker, den ich leider nie live gehört habe.
