„Full Metal Jacket“ ist im Gegensatz zu Kubricks erstem „Kriegsfilm“ „Paths Of Glory“ kein echter „Anti-Kriegsfilm“. In den Kampfpausen äußern die Marines Frustration, aber weder ein Pro- noch ein Antikriegsgefühl.
