Ich höre mich auch durch tonnenweise Miles in den vergangenen Tagen… zuerst die IASW, BB und JJ Boxen, dann die ganzen Live-Aufnahmen von 1970… 1971 hab ich mal ausgelassen, die schiere Menge schaffe ich nicht, wird später nachgeholt. Jetzt bin ich bei der OTC-Box, 1972-75 – und werde hier wieder die eine oder andere Live-Session hören dazwischen.
Das hier hab ich grad gefunden – ganz andere Zeit, aber dennoch interessant: Jimmy Zitano über den (aufgenommenen) Gig mit Miles:
„It was cryptic, man, playing the drums for Miles Davis that one time at the High Hat Club in the early Fifties. They used local musicians, so I got to play. Davis didn’t say we’d do the introduction to ’Ray’s Idea,’ but I instinctively did the introduction. I did the introduction. I was under a tremendous amount of pressure and I instinctively did the introduction. I was right.“
